Miles Winchester Nearly two years since release, and I still frequent this album more than any other local album I've never listened to. James is the master of hooks and synth based riffs. Purchase this album if you're into synth based power pop. Favorite track: Juggernaut.

Juggernaut 03:02
I think I’m hearing voices again Do they originate from within They’re coming from him from her from all around Some would say they come from underground Oh-oh I think this is so mistakeful Oh-oh to fail to carry out what you are able If you overcome your own apathy Break away from this bland monotony No laugh it off cause they’ll never see through Your juggernaut bombshell but neither will you So why should I not you feel so ashamed You should be careful with what you say You’re thinking your x-ray eyes see right into my head But my thoughts yeah I try to keep them quiet and lined with lead I hope you got more to be Than a moral authority Not saying don’t look twice but listen to me Think before you think on what you see

Gravity Has got its hold on me I’ve fallen down and I can’t get up I’m pressing on but I’m all out of luck Can anybody save me Or has our world forgot Still I can’t seem to muster Conscientious thought Oh no because we tend to not think about what we say We say it anyway Put off our work it’s time to play It’s for another day Ever fail to see Mild hypocrisy Disinclined to firmly take a stance It’s time we left behind all our Promises to time Deny to delay for a chance For time isn’t on our side Anxiety Why must you be I missed her then and I miss her now Could I fear that face somehow Shadows dance on reason Yet there’s far too much trust Sooner or later We’ll have to adjust

I look at the stars above I feel that push will come to shove Come to shove As long as we can see them Up in the sky we will agree Harmony And you will know The stars remain there As they always do Ever burning starry glow I will be there if you want me to In the city I suppose You know there’s something here In the absence of your fear Of your fear There is a chilling silence Radiating from the sky Electrify It goes to show Somewhere up there floats the major Far within our galaxy The evening winds find my cold shoulder Too oft’ with you as absentee Outer Space Lights

Say Yes 04:28
I’ve really liked you, for such a long time But I still knew, you would never be mine I took a chance, but the sun wouldn’t shine You wanted to say yes, but still said no I’ll wait this out, ‘cause you know I won’t go I’ll be here for you, through the high and low You say yes, and then no How long before I know I’m right here, next to you Tell me that you always knew You’re gonna come to me, and we’ll be together I’m sick and tired, of all this rejection It’s spreading through me, like an infection But I’m not giving up, because you’re the cure Don’t sell your heart, rather let it be free I’ll give you mine, and then take yours for me Hand in hand, we’ll forever be I want to be forever Just you and me together I want to be forever Forever in love with you You say yes, and then no How long will, will this go I’m right here, where I’ve always been And you’re right there and then You’re gonna come to me, and we’ll be together Forever

She's just like a twister You can always tell where she's been She leaves an array of destruction So stay out of her way Don't let her grasp get you She'll take your heart and snap it in two Stay away and watch what you do Oh- oh she'll get you She tells a lot of lies She loves to make us cry Much like a smoke filled room So dense you can't breathe- breathe or move
7.
HERO 04:16
I’m just finding my personal paradise Cut out the bad and make room to optimize I’m honing my skills yeah it’s a matter of time But you know what they say, “time is not on my side” I’ll strive to be nothing else like you’ve ever seen, Yet my super-powers may be few and far in between But between you and me I think they’re more than enough, just enough! I’ll be a hero! Yeah a hero Someone’s hero! A hero, honey I’m just guarding my personal aerospace Been inactively searching for someone to save When a friend let me know that she just had to confess She’d held some feelings at bay and they were time to address But now she says that I was better before She brought her suitcase and self through my door It hurts so bad, this news it really is rough And it means my powers maybe weren’t enough To be her hero! A hero I’m not her hero! Not yet her hero Now we’ve been apart for a little while It sure seems more than enough I find myself always thinking of that smile And how it used get me through the low times I hope you find it in your heart tonight To overlook the times I wasn’t quite enough to be your hero Oh please, tell me that you’re ready to give me one more chance I hope you find it in your heart tonight A hero! A hero Your hero! A hero honey I’ll be your hero! A hero Yeah your hero! A hero honey…

Interpret Me 03:29
Blasting punk rock music Through the car stereo Some bloke’s doing what he does best Never taking no If you are much like me What you show outside Pales in comparison to Everything that you hide Take a look around you You’ll begin to see Everyone’s putting up their own façade Of necessity? Out of need Feeling less alone now? Or more than ever before? Live stream biographies of Fiction that you adore Interpret Me! The way I know you will anyway Interpret Me! Based on everything I ever say Be sure to leave some room for doubt in your mind Because the iceberg knows all along your blind Sing to me shadow people The choruses I think I know God only knows what Lurks inside your every soul Sometimes I’m pretty sure it’s best this way That such a bloke has an out Gives him the benefit benefit Benefit of the doubt

Run run runaway He’s left home and now he’ll stay Away from everything he’s known He’s somewhere he can be alone now Far far faraway Redemption come another day Pay pence to his solitude Let him have another mood swing Break break breakaway You were more than throwaway Say what you have wanted to Dying thoughts are overdue and Fly fly fly away If you can then it’s okay Today you will change precedent You in fact are competent Say what you’ve wanted to say Even if just to try to erase Say what you’ve wanted to say All your problems are miles away

Dance Dance 04:06
I think it’s time I start leading with my left I’m getting way too predictable again Better addle up my consciousness before Fate starts claiming more friends It’s out of character it’s madness at best I look away and grant a mental absence But memories they burn strong, hot, and bright And the silver linings start to reflect I wanna Dance dance dance with you one last time In your basement the radio on all night We’d last forever or so I had thought You were mine Dance dance dance with me one last time For thirty seconds pretend that we’re still just fine Just once before we say Goodbye I think it’s time I start leading with my left I’m getting way too predictable again The only way out of this labyrinth is to Ditch the black box heart from within Now night has found me in these dark prison walls Cold and lonely yet somehow still awake The guards all slumber and the key’s in my hand Why oh why can’t I make my escape And so they went Into the night As lovers do From time to time But one broke free No dawn in sight The other perished By hounds that found him cold with fright Dance dance dance with me one last time In your basement the radio on all night We’d last forever or so I had thought You were mine You’re breaking my heart tonight For thirty seconds we’ll be just fine You’re breaking my heart tonight
11.
Excelsior 04:02
Your brown stargazing haunting eyes will Dominate my dreams tonight Much like the way they always seem to do Although what have I got to fear Despite the face that’s always near Since when do my dreams come true? I’ve become a veteran of taking apart The long-term disagreements of the head and the heart You’ve gotta stop and tell yourself just what you will say Excelsior The OSL is a weather balloon Or a training exercise Aurora Borealis has yet to be found You must come to realize They’d trust me less if I could sow Their sorrows deep and watch them grow Under divulging light of the yellow sun Concessions to those that I owe I torched those bridges years ago On purpose? No but still what’s done is done The flames still luminate my smoking gun
12.
I’ll pack my things up and shut down my gear Like the runaway boy it’s time to disappear Gonna travel through time until I come to the right year Oh for some reason that I cannot explain I am so weary and so solemn all the time And it seems that I am just not the same Since you said that I was not your HERO I will return At least I sure hope so

about

The first and possibly last full-length album by James And The Solo Projects. Loosely a concept album, Paradox delves into themes of self-betterment, love both reciprocated and unreciprocated, the mechanics of passing judgment, emotional desperation, self-accomplished achievement, renewal, and otherwise everything considered to be that of growing up. The sonic themes of the album are presented with an equally sonic soundtrack of electric guitars and synthesizers.
